Hyperhidrosis

A common condition in which a person sweats excessively, affecting the whole body or specific areas.

What is it?

It's natural to sweat - our bodies use it as a method to control our temperature. However, when the sweating is excessive and persistent, it's not considered typical. Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition characterized by excessive sweating, beyond what is necessary for body temperature regulation. It can affect specific areas of the body, such as the palms, feet, underarms or face, or it can also be generalized, affecting the entire body. This condition can be both physically uncomfortable and emotionally distressing, often interfering with daily activities and social interactions.

Hyperhidrosis can either be inherited (primary hyperhidrosis) or acquired (secondary hyperhidrosis) due to factors such as diabetes, gout, menopause, medication allergies, cancer and stressful situations.

How is it treated?

We specialize in diagnosing and treating hyperhidrosis with a variety of effective solutions. Our goal is to help manage excessive sweating, improve comfort and enhance your quality of life. We offer several treatment options tailored to your needs, which may include a personalized antiperspirant approach, prescribed antiperspirants, oral medications or even Botox injections. Botox can temporarily block the nerves responsible for sweating, providing significant relief, especially in areas like the underarms, hands and feet.

Our experienced team understands the physical and emotional challenges that come with hyperhidrosis. We provide compassionate, individualized care to help you manage and treat this condition with solutions designed to fit your lifestyle. If you're struggling with excessive sweating, don't wait–schedule a consultation with us today to begin your journey to relief.
